A Break

Tugging at strings, worse for wear,
adjusting of shoulder-straps, and heaving up boxes,
a slight break to wipe a trickle
of sweat on the bare skin of a forearm,
or soaked sleeve,
or handkerchief -
and all I can think of is the end of the break.
