I already have trouble drawing hair, and I don't take enough care of mine to know what words are associated with what kind of hair. As such, curly hair doesn't really register anything with me. The angel prompt though does. I've done one angel prompt in the past, where I drew the Angel-Devil from Chainsaw Man, so I won't venture into that territory again. It'd probably hard to do so with curly hair anyways. Curly-haired angels conjure the image of those cherubins that some people have as Christmas ornamentation, which I happen to find incredibly kitschy, so I won't go with those either. I've said something about face proportions last week though, so maybe a face close-up would be in order.

I left the construction lines in this sketch, so I can indicate what I meant last week. The face gets bisected two ways along the two principle axes. The Horizontal bisection though should indicate the brow-line rather than the eyes. That's also why one line should suffice in theory, since the brow gives direct orientation for the eyes, the nose and the ears. Depending on construction, one could also add another horizontal line (I guess the physicist would call it a geodesic), to indicate the position of the mouth, but I tend to just place it below the nose without much though. It's not usually a difficult thing to reposition in case that doesn't go as expected.

Yikes, the camera picked up a lot of grains this time around. For context, I draw directly on the sketch-pad with a paper in between the one I'm working on and the one for next week. After a while though, the ink starts to saturate in my in-between sheet and then it starts doing this. That's a good sign for me to use a new sheet of paper.

I had a lot of fun inking this. It's not really complicated this time around, but a little face-practice can't hurt every once in a while. This leaves me with the question of what poem to write. I'm not doing another angel one - my creative angel material is quite limited - and writing a hair poem doesn't sit quite right with me. I think I might just keep this one brief.

There once was a cook with bad planning

who had a huge passion for canning.

If time was quite rare

he'd make angel hair

and make a canned meal most enchanting
