Geometric shapes do funny things to math-brains. Ovals, specifically give me ideas about two-particle problems and eccentricities of ellipses. To draw though, I had to have a little think. I must have used this shorthand once before, because I didn't need reference and once I had settled it in my mind, it was finished really quickly.

I love fox-shaped things, and they're not very much represented in media as the actual animal. Initially I thought about this game I watched somebody play parts of several years ago with, and looking up the link now, I notice that it features a wolf, not a fox, so the argument that I was going to emulate parts of its style seems silly now. Anyway, that was what I was going for, and also largely the reason why I didn't do shading on this one.

With cleaner line-art, I like how this turned out, even without shading. I think shading it at this point would introduce some very jarring elements to it, and this is pretty and peaceful as is, so I'll call this finished.

Oval is a comfortable shape

it's wobbly and round, and great

for tucking your hind legs next to your nape

and to drift off into a calm sleeping state
