Drawing famously black things in monochrome is probably a challenge in of itself - one that I will swiftly side-step by drawing stuff to frame it. It's really my well established modus operandi at this point: Finding my frame. I don't really care much for charcoal, and considering I'm not really the type to enjoy smoked meats enough to look forward to say a barbecue for the food alone, I don't really have to interact with it.

Hand construction, hand construction. I've practiced this for a while, so it's not anything I struggle with too badly anymore, even if I still have a clear tendency for the old spider-fingers. The oval something in the center of the frame doesn't very much evoke the idea of charcoal, I'm aware, but that's why I gave this a big label off to the side there.

I hide in the shadows of flickering flame.

Compared to my brothers, I am the same.

I wait in the underground where there's no night or day,

til tired hands claim me, and take me away.
